Non ci resta che piangere by R. Benigni and M. Troisi

To celebrate the 500th anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519), the Italian Institute of Culture and the Consulate General of Italy in Edinburgh are delighted to invite you to Infinite Grace: Leonardo 1519-2019, a series of events organised in collaboration with Davide Messina and Carlo Pirozzi from the University of Edinburgh, where we are also celebrating the Centenary of Italian Studies (1919-2019).

As part of Infinite Grace, there will be a special screening of Roberto Benigni and Massimo Troisi’s cult film Non ci resta che piangere (1984).

In the 80s, two friends mysteriously wake up in the XV century. A series of adventures develops while the two friends try, not always successfully, to fit within the society of the time. Apart from many other people, the two friends meet with Leonardo da Vinci, creating some of the most famous scenes of Italian cinema.

The film will be in Italian with English subtitles, and it will be introduced by Prof. Davide Messina.

The event is free and there is no need to register.
