Pinocchio
Freely adapted and directed by Carlo Pirozzi
Assistant Director: Simone Caffari
Students from Italian Studies, University of Edinburgh, are delighted to present a new Italian Play inspired by The Adventures of Pinocchio (1883) by Carlo Collodi (1826-1890).
We invited students to develop their own versions of Pinocchio’s famous story, to imagine why the puppet wants so desperately to become a child, and what it means for them to grow up, allowing these reflections to inform their acting.
The play proudly features a special collaboration with students and teachers from Holy Rood RC High School in Edinburgh, who will perform live music and songs.
The play, in Italian and in English, is part of DELC Festival of European Theatre, University of Edinburgh.
