#StayTunedOnIt #6

While we are closed to public, we would like to take you on a journey aimed to discover the best classics of Italian literature chosen from the audiobooks collection "Ad alta voce" broadcasted in Italian by Rai Radio 3.

Our sixth choice is "Lessico famigliare" by Natalia Ginzburg read by Anna Bonaiuto.

Natalia Ginzburg, one of the great Italian writers of the 20th, was born in Palermo, in 1916, to a prominent family of left-wing intellectuals. Her novel “Lessico famigliare", first published in 1963 is a novelistic memoir of her upbringing and career. It paints an unusual portrait of everyday domestic life in Italy from the 1920s to the 50s.

The novel won the Strega Prize in 1963.

“La quotidiana solitudine è l’unico mezzo che noi abbiamo di partecipare alla vita del prossimo, perduto e stretto in una solitudine uguale.”

Buon ascolto!
