The Italian Institute of Culture is delighted to be part of the Scottish International Storytelling Festival in marking the 700th anniversary of Dante’s death.
When Dante first caught a glimpse of Beatrice, a new spring surged up in human consciousness and culture. Dante became a poet and pilgrim of love, and many have followed him since, not least the Romantic and religious poets and artists of every century. In this performance, Italian storyteller Giovanna Conforto uncovers the earliest roots of Dante in love, while Donald Smith goes on pilgrimage to Florence in search of the true grail… With songs and music by Simone Caffari.
