Nico Bonomolo is a visual artist from Palermo. His work as a self-taught creator of short animated films has received several accolades from Italian and international festivals. Some of the most prestigious recognitions include the New Italian Cinema Events Award at the 55th Taormina Film Festival; a Special Mention at the Nastri d'Argento; the Gryphon Award for the Best Animated Short Film; and nominations for the David di Donatello, the Italian Golden Globes, and the Academy Awards.
This event offers a unique retrospective of his animated short films, including a special screening of his latest work, Maestrale (2021), already short-listed for international awards.
The artist will be in conversation with Paul Bruce, Director of the Edinburgh Short Film Festival.
