Parliamo di scenografia – A presentation by Nino Formica

As part of Fare Cinema 2018 – I mestieri del Cinema, the Italian Institute of Culture is thrilled to present Parliamo di scenografia – A presentation by Nino Formica.

The audience will be captivated by renowned Italian production designer Nino Formica’s fascinating introduction to the different steps of production design. How does a design project develop? From the script reading and interpretation to the search for a perfect location, from drawings and pictures to the finalisation of the last details, Nino Formica – bringing examples from his works for TV and cinema – will guide his audience in a discovery of the secrets and challenges of his exciting job!

Having graduated in scenography at the Fine Arts Academy in Rome, Nino Formica initially worked as set designer (in 1984) in collaboration with the architect Mario Chiari. Over the years he gained experience both in cinema and television, receiving two nominations for the David di Donatello awards. His works include: La Porta Rossa, directed by Carmine Elia (2016), 7 Minuti, directed by Michele Placido (2016), Il restauratore, directed by Giorgio Capitani (2010 e 2013), Il delitto di via Poma, directed by Roberto Faenza (2011)
