Inauguration of the photographic exhibition ‘The Female Gaze: Women and Work in Italy Since the 1950’s’ .

Please join us at the Institute for the opening of the exhibition on Tuesday 8 March 2022 at 6.30pm – with the curator: Maria Chiara di Trapani and the organisers: Ilaria Favretto (Kingston University), Nico Pizzolato (Middlesex University) Eloisa Betti (Bologna University), Phil Cooke (Strathclyde University) and Maud Bracke (Glasgow University).

The inauguration will include a drinks reception, along with discussion of the fantastic work that has been done to create this exhibition, and its significance.

The photographic exhibition is sponsored by ASMI, Kingston University, Middlesex University, the Italian Cultural Institute, and UDI Bologna, and will provide the British public with a unique opportunity to see images from the photographic archive of UDI Bologna and the Donata Pizzi collection including the work of leading Italian female photographers such as Paola Agosti, Marcella Campagnano, Lisetta Carmi, Letizia Battaglia and Cristina Omenetto (just to mention a few).
