Italian young classic pianist Giacomo Menegardi will perform a piano concert at Stockbridge Parish Church on Friday, 8th April 2022 at 7.00 pm.

Born in 2000, Giacomo Menegardi started playing the piano at the age of 6. He is currently studying at the Conservatory of Castelfranco Veneto under the guidance of Massimiliano Ferrati.

Menegardi has performed in numerous concerts and competitions in Italy, Spain, Germany, Belgium, France, Scotland and the USA.

His debut album Humoreske with music by Mendelssohn, Beethoven and Schumann was released in 2021 for the Spanish label KNS Classical, arousing wide interest from magazines (Amadeus), radio (RAI Radio 3, RadioClassica) and several Italian musical associations.

He has held recitals and concerts with the orchestra in prestigious Italian theaters and concert halls such as the Sale Apollinee of the Fenice Theatre in Venice, the “Largo Gustav Mahler” Auditorium in Milan, the Maffeiana Hall of the Verona Philharmonic Theatre, the Municipal Theater of Belluno, “Giovanni XXIII” Theater of Belluno, Greek Theatre of Taormina, Camploy Theatre of Verona, “Donna Fugata” Theatre of Ragusa-Ibla, Theatre of Castelfranco Veneto, Auditori Viader of Girona.

From the age of eleven he began to participate in numerous national and international competitions, winning over thirty absolute first prizes. Among the most important we remember the first prizes at the “G. Pecar International Piano Competition”, at the national “Marco Bramanti”, at the “Spoleto International Piano Competition”, finalist and winner of the second prize at the “Luciano Luciani” International Piano Competition in Cosenza, first prize at the “Alkan Prize for piano virtuosity”, first prize at “WA Mozart International Piano Competition” in Lugano.

He has played for important festivals and musical associations such as the International Music Festival of Portrogruaro, the International Festival “In the sounds of places” (Italy), “I Bemolli sono Blu” of Viterbo, the “OperaEstate” Festival of Bassano del Grappa, the “Cittadella International Music Festival”, “Duino International Music Festival”,“Svc Giovani” of the Teatro la Fenice in Venice,“NU Arts Festival”of Novara, “La Corte Musicale” of Pienza, “Hammerklavier” Concert Series in Girona (Spain). In 2019 he won a scholarship to participate in the “Ikif International Piano Festival” in New York.

In recent years, Menegardi has added an intense activity of chamber music to his activity as a soloist, collaborating with young musicians at the beginning of their concert career and musicians already established on the international music scene. The most recent collaboration sees him engaged in a series of concerts with the famous italian violinist Giovanni Andrea Zanon.

His recordings have aired for RaiRadio 3, Radio Classica, RadioBelluno, Radio MCA and Venice Classic Radio.
