As part of the 53rd edition of the Flaiano International Awards, Literature section, the 25th Flaiano International Award for Italian Studies “Luca Attanasio” will be held in 2026. For the fifth consecutive year, the award will include a Youth Under-35 category, dedicated to new digital languages, with the aim of continuing to recognize the promotion of Italian culture around the world through younger generations using new technologies. This year, the award is further enriched by a new section dedicated to “Lingua Geniale” (Genius Language), inspired by the title chosen for the 2026 Week of Italian Language in the World, “Lingua geniale: ideare, progettare, creare con l’italiano” (“Genius Language: conceiving, designing and creating with Italian”). The new section aims to highlight the strategic link between culture and growth, in which the Italian language and the Italian-speaking world represent privileged tools.
The Award is promoted and organized by the Edoardo Tiboni Foundation and the Ennio Flaiano Cultural Association, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Italian Cultural Institutes abroad. The award will be presented in the “Over” category to three authors and in the “Under 35” category to one author whose works focus on topics related to Italian culture and which have been published abroad, either in Italian or in another language, as well as translations of Italian works and works created through new technologies (short films, promotional spots, texts). Each Italian Cultural Institute may submit up to three works published in its country of accreditation between 28 July 2025 and 31 August 2026. The awards ceremony will take place on Friday, 26 October 2026, at 7:00 p.m. in Pescara. The award may not be collected by a third party. Should the winner be absent from the awards ceremony, this will be considered a waiver of the award.
