A centuries-old weave of art, faith, and mutual exchange unites Italy and Scotland in the rediscovery of the Church of St Andrew of the Scots alle Quattro Fontane in Rome.
From 9th October to 18th December 2026, a hidden treasure that for over three centuries preserved the memory of the Scottish community in Rome’s Baroque heart will finally be unveiled to the public. A miniature physical model, enriched with dynamic multimedia content, and an unprecedented Mixed Reality experience restore the space to its 18th-century splendour.
The exhibition “The Church of St Andrew of the Scots alle Quattro Fontane” comes to life, a project created by the Italian Institute of Culture in Edinburgh and WAY Experience, with the invaluable support of sponsors Scottish Catholic Historical Association and Italian Scotland.
A site that is today deconsecrated and little known is preparing to reveal its 18th-century splendour once again, thanks to an unprecedented dialogue between digital innovation and historical-scientific rigour.
An immersive journey through matter, memory, and technological innovation to relive an extraordinary story of an encounter between two nations.
