Così è (se vi pare!) / Right You Are (If You Think So!)

Directed by Carlo Pirozzi

by the Nobel Prize winner Luigi Pirandello

Students from the Departments of Italian at Glasgow and Strathclyde University will perform Così è (se vi pare!) / Right You Are (If You Think So!) by the Nobel Prize winner Luigi Pirandello, one of the greatest Italian playwrights of the twentieth century.

The story dramatises conflicting versions of truth as told by the various characters. A resolution is reached when one of them is declared to be insane, but determining which one, and establishing the point where fantasy meets reality, provide the play with its focus and the townspeople with a dilemma.

The play is representative of Pirandello’s obsession with the fine line between fantasy and reality experienced in human consciousness.

Performed in Italian.
