conducted by Tommy Smith
Miles Davis was one of the coolest figures in jazz and a constant innovator. Together with the outstandingly original arranger, Gil Evans, he created in Birth of the Cool and Miles Ahead two of the great jazz achievements of the 1940s and 1950s which shaped new movements in jazz at the time and whose influence continues to be felt today.
Now Sardinian trumpet player, Paulo Fresu, a deeply personal communicator like Davis himself, joins the award-winning, internationally acclaimed Scottish National Jazz Orchestra to bring these two gems to the musical stage. A work of direct emotion, quiet power and vivid orchestral colour.
