Dish Dance, Unholy Trinity

by Avatâra Ayuso, Giorgia Nardin, and Aoife McAtamney / DISH Dance

Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2013

Unholy Trinity is a provocative and powerful triple bill of feisty solos. Avatâra Ayuso’s iconic Salome is inspired by the passion and contradictions of that incredible, mythical woman. Dolly, by the amazing Giorgia Nardin, investigates automatism. Her body is manoeuvred – it’s a rented form, the occupant does not own it. She gives in to being ornamental and becomes bare flesh. Charismatic Aoife McAtamney’s Softer Swells is inspired by a poem about memory, this is a high-energy piece filled with Irish cultural undertones, beautiful music and intense physicality.
