E la nave va… – And the ship sails on… (1983)

Director: Federico Fellini

132 mins

The first in a regular programme of specially-curated films showcasing the brilliant diversity of Italian cinema. The screening will be introduced by season curator Dr. Pasquale Iannone.

July 1914: a cruise ship leaves Italy with the remains of the famous opera singer Edmea Tetua, which expressed the will to scatter her ashes into the Aegean. The boat is filled with her friends, opera singers, actors and journalists. But on the third day the captain has to save from the sea some Serbian refugees escaping from the first tremors of WWI.
