The Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2016
Em and Um: a married couple losing their identity in a plastic, robotic, grotesque world. Two dark clowns share the same tragicomic, alienating existence as they work side by side. And then, something happens which shakes their souls. Petrol investigates the expressive and poetic potential of unconventional masks as a means of exploring the dehumanising effect of modern life. ‘Giacomo Gamba’s new show Petrol, an excellent tragicomic piece, brings to the stage the many faces of depersonalising alienation thanks to Anna Penati and Marco Zavarise’s extraordinary performances’ (Il Giornale di Brescia). Audience Award Fêtes Internationales du Théâtre, Montreal.
