VII Settimana della Cucina Italiana nel Mondo | A Cena con lo Chef Michele Di Bonito da Eusebi Deli

Settimana della Cucina Italiana

Eusebi Deli  is partnering with: the Italian Cultural Institute in Edinburgh, the Consulate General of Italy for Scotland and Northern Ireland and the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the UK, Scotland Office, to celebrate la VII Settimana della Cucina nel Mondo, or the ‘World Week of Italian Cuisine’ – an initiative which celebrates Italian food abroad in 130 countries.

World Week of Italian Cuisine runs from 14th-20th November, with this year’s theme of “Conviviality, sustainability and innovation: the ingredients of Italian cuisine for people’s health and protection of the planet”.

Eusebi’s, an authentic Italian, family-run business for over 40 years, is representing Glasgow’s long-standing ties to Italian cuisine with a one-night only, six course tasting menu on 16th November; an evening celebrating the best in contemporary Italian cuisine and wine pairings.

The restaurant has partnered with prestigious Chef Michele Di Bonito from leading restaurant Battimandorlo in Sicily to prepare a contemporary tasting menu with an avant-garde twist. Sitting on twenty acres of organic farmland, Battimandorlo carefully tends to each vegetable and herb allowing every dish to be guided by the rhythm of nature. Michele Di Bonito explains his philosophy towards food as “a unique, intimate sensory experience, which allows the team to bring a new life and lightness to clean and healthy produce.”

The menu represents this sustainable ethos and will use all vegetables from Battimandorlo’s vegetable garden featuring; prized Scottish lamb brined with Sicilian citrus for tradition with a twist. Traditional Italian gnocco is also revitalised with a new energy – complimented with unique ingredients like spiced meat, yoghurt sauce and powdered meat.

Michele Di Bonito has created a synergy between kitchen, place and plate with the Patata Di Sant’Antuono dessert as a tribute to the Naples celebration of Saint Anthony, comprised of sweet, barbecued potato cake and edible silver reminiscent of the foil.

What a fantastic way to celebrate World Week of Italian Cuisine!
