Rime Insaponate – Soapy Rhymes
Sunday, 26th November 2023 | 3:00 pm
2 Royal Avenue, Belfast

Rime Insaponate – Soapy Rhymes is a family show centred upon the most ineffable, evocative, delicate, surreal and playful object: the soap bubble. This ancient game becomes a play-script that mixes rhymes with an original technique to make bubbles and a little bit of magic.

As if animated by the lines themselves, the bubbles of Alekos, the Bubble Poet will generate a surreal dance and transport the audience into a magical world of shimmering lights and reflections.

A luminous and illuminating experience for children and dreamers of all ages. Suitable for ages 5 and up (younger children welcome).

Alekos Ottaviucci, il Poeta delle Bolle
For Alekos Ottaviucci, bubbles are not only an instrument of artistic expression but also a life-changing experience. During a sabbatical period from medical studies, he started backpacking around the world, bringing anywhere he went his beloved soap bubbles, thus discovering the wonders of a street performer’s life. With soap bubbles as his companion for 3 years, he explored the precious messages hidden inside the most oneiric toy of the world, and started studying acting and writing poems to share this ancient wisdom with kids and adults, in Italy and abroad.

In Italian with English surtitles.
