Eternally Cinematic: Rome on Film

Edinburgh College of Art and Filmhouse are proud to present Eternally Cinematic: Rome on Film, an exhibition of original poster designs to accompany the 2017 edition of Italian Film Festival in Scotland.

Whether through the films of Federico Fellini and Pier Paolo Pasolini or the work of Peter Greenaway and Woody Allen, the city of Rome has always been a powerful, vital presence in film. Indeed, in more than a century of filmmaking, it’s hard to think of a Roman landmark or neighbourhood that hasn’t graced the silver screen, whether it’s the Colosseum, The Spanish Steps, Trastevere or the EUR.

Organised and curated by Pasquale Iannone and Carlo Pirozzi (University of Edinburgh) together with Jonathan Gibbs and Saskia Cameron (Edinburgh College of Art), the exhibition showcases work by ECA students in Illustration and offers a fresh new take on more than seven decades of Rome-set cinema.
