The Italian Film Festival celebrates its 20th anniversary edition in 2013. For two decades, the Festival, with the dedicated support of the Italian Cultural Institute, has brought the best of Italian cinema to Scottish venues and welcomed some of the most beloved and iconic figures in the Italian industry to present their films and discuss their careers with Scottish audiences. Among the many special guests the Festival has welcomed are Francesco Rosi, Paolo Sorrentino, the Taviani brothers, Giuseppe Tornatore, Lina Wertmuller and Mario Monicelli.
The 2013 Festival will continue the tradition of screening the best new Italian films from top box-office hits to some of the most acclaimed and feted titles of the past year. The 20th anniversary edition celebrations are aiming once again to welcome guests to Scotland. There will also be a chance to revisit the stormy creative and personal relationship between Roberto Rossellini and Ingrid Bergman through a revealing new documentary and screenings of their most famous collaborations.
