Il borghese gentiluomo – the dream of bourgeois Monsieur Jourdain aspiring to be a nobleman – the firstof two rare works resulting from the collaboration between Richard Strauss and Hugo von Hofmannsthal to be staged at the Festival. Both works were performed for the first time together in 1912 in Stuttgart.
Arianna a Nasso – The second work, a rendition of the theme of Ariadne, will be streamed online on the 21st of July.
