Wednesday 25 March, 5.30 p.m. : the talk “PASOLINI’S PASSION” by Prof. Paolo Valesio, President of Centro Studi P.P. Pasolini of Casarsa, at the Italian Department of the University of Edinburgh, Project Room.
2015 marks the 40th anniversary of the death of one of the greatest Italian intellectuals of the 20th century: Pier Paolo Pasolini, poet and filmmaker, essayist and novelist. The Italian Cultural Institute, in collaboration with the University of Edinburgh, the Filmhouse and the Cineteca di Bologna, have organized a series of events to celebrate his life and work. The talk “Pasolini’s Passion” by Paolo Valesio, Giuseppe Ungaretti Professor Emeritus in Italian Literature, Columbia University, and President of the Centro Studi Sara Valesio in Bologna.
A round table with Angela Felice (Centro Studi “Pier Paolo Pasolini” di Casarsa) and Robert Gordon (Cambridge University) and a screening of Pasolini’s short film “La ricotta”, 1962 and the documentary “Location Hunting in Palestine” (“Sopralluoghi in Palestina”, 1963).
Thursday 26 March, 5.45 p.m. : “The Gospel According to Matthew” by PP Pasolini at the Edinburgh Filmhouse, 88 Lothian Road.
