Safe Piano Duo, Federica Cassisi & Salvatore Vaccarella, will be performing Once Upon a Time… at the Edinburgh Society of Musicians (3 Belford Road, Edinburgh, EH4 3BL) on Saturday, 9th December at 7:30 pm, under the patronage of the Italian Institute of Culture in Edinburgh.
Once Upon a Time… is a selection of piano works dedicated to the world of childhood. It is not music for childhood, such as studies or exercises intended for learning, nor is it music of childhood, that is, written by very talented infants; it is really music about childhood, created by the great composers in their maturity inspired by memories, places and things of a time long gone.

Suite for piano duet dedicated by the Italian composer to Federica Cassisi and Salvatore Vaccarella
Safe Piano Duo is composed of Federica Cassisi and Salvatore Vaccarella. Federica is a pianist, singer and speech therapist; Salvatore, a classical pianist, made his debut in 2018 at Carnegie Hall in New York City presented among the winners of the prestigious Ibla Grand Prize International Competition. For many years they have been performing as a piano duo, always receiving considerable critical and public acclaim; they have been perfecting under the guidance of Argentine pianist, composer and conductor Eduardo Hubert, and their repertoire ranges from classicism to contemporary music. Among their various ongoing artistic projects, Federica and Salvatore are the president and artistic director of the Safe cultural association, which works to spread classical and popular music in Sicily, and the founders of the Kalat Piano Festival, a musical event that takes place in several Sicilian cities during the summer.
