The Italian Institute of Culture and the Consulate General of Italy are delighted to be partnering with the World of Film International Festival and Eusebi Deli to celebrate Italian culture, with a focus on both film and food. This coincides with the 9th Annual Edition of the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World, an initiative of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cultural Cooperation aimed at promoting the uniqueness of Italian identity and culture through the promotion of Italian culinary traditions and knowledge of food and wine.
The event will celebrate the best Italian short films of 2023 paired with curated Italian dishes and wines with particular emphasis on the Mediterranean Diet. Get comfortably seated for your gastronomic adventure, while travelling through various regions of Italy on the screen.

Impure – Chello ‘Ncuollo by Olga Torrico, Italy 2023, Runtime: 17 mins

Mario is a mussels fisherman who has dedicated his whole life to the sea and to his family. Now sixty years old, widowed and destitute, he finds himself at an impasse: he loves his job but he is no longer able to do it.

In order to achieve her dream, she begins her voyage towards Italy, an experience full of atrocity and bestiality. Eldorado by Mathieu Volpe, Italy 2023, Runtime: 19 mins
Originally from Cameroon, Awa works as a snow groomer driver on the ski slopes of La Thuile, the last Italian town before France. In the middle of her shift, she crosses paths with Souleymane, a young migrant desperately trying to cross the border. Helping Souleymane cross the mountain may be the only way for Awa to silence a dull and constant guilt.
