Founded in 1978, Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival is now one of the largest and most respected jazz and blues festivals in Europe. The Festival embrace and celebrate internationalism, bringing some of the finest artists working in Italy today to Edinburgh.
Top Italian jazz drummer Roberto Gatto has collaborated with the likes of Joe Zawinul, John Scofifield, Lee Konitz and Chet Baker during his illustrious career. Perfectrio sees him working with two of the most exciting young players on the Italian scene Alfonso Santimone (piano, fender Rhodes) and Gabriele Evangelista (double bass). Keeping the link to the tradition they add electronics to their improvisational palette ranging from moments of great energy and groove which alternate with periods of high lyricism.
