In 2 meetings of 1 hour and 30 minutes each, the Italian Book Club will explore the novel Mia madre aveva una cinquecento gialla by Enrica Ferrara (in Italian).
During the meetings with their Book Club tutor, participants will have the opportunity to learn more about the author and background of the chosen book, read aloud a few chosen passages and learn more about grammar, language structures and vocabulary throughout the reading. Participants will then be encouraged to discuss and ask questions about the book’s characters, plot, message, style, and overall enjoyment of their specific reading experience.

Mia madre aveva una Cinquecento gialla (Fazi, 2024) is a bittersweet debut about a family suddenly ensnared within the political scandals that divided Italy towards the Eighties, across the years of Lead and the infamous kidnapping of Aldo Moro.
The price for the Italian Book Club will be £40.00/£30.00 for concessions (students, pensioners, unemployed, members and students of the Italian Institute of Culture) and includes the loan of a digital or physical copy of the book.
